Senior citizens are not known to be incredibly tech-savvy but an 81-year-old Japanese woman has gone ahead to prove that notion wrong by creating an iPhone app despite learning about computers late in life. Masako Wakamiya is behind the app called Hinadan which is based on a traditional Japanese holiday known as Girls’ Day. The game app requires players to arrange a series of dolls in a specific order while being guided by ‘beeps’ that signal either approval or disapproval. The fact that Wakamiya bought her first computer at 60 after retirement and later set up her machine completely on her own makes her achievement all the more mind-blowing. She now has her own website where she produces Excel art tutorials to help senior computer users. You can check out her inspiring TEDx talk as well!
